Rich graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a degree in Economics Management and a minor in Politics and Government in 1994. He began his career in the financial planning and insurance industry in 1995 as an agent for New England Life Insurance. In 1997 Rich joined CCI Benefit Solutions as a Benefit Advisor to provide 401(k) expertise for client companies. In 2003 he became a Principal at CCI and was named the company’s Vice President and CFO in 2005. As the company’s retirement plan line of business grew under Rich’s leadership, Third Party Administrator services were added to its offerings in 2007.
In 2011, Rich established Retirement Plans, Inc. and serves as President of the firm. In this role he is working to ensure that RPI is “Building Better Retirement Plans” by providing companies with efficiently designed plans while providing their employees with the best tool available to help them prepare for a successful retirement. Rich helps support this mission through his work with RPI clients and as a regular speaker at the firm’s Straight Talk Series meetings; www.rpi401k.com/straight-talk-series/ In 2017 Rich was named to the Columbus Smart 50 by Smart Business magazine for his leadership of RPI and commitment to education of plan sponsors and 401k participants.
Outside of the office, Rich can be found actively at work in the community and in particular with activities that support the growth and development of young people. In addition to being active in leadership roles in his church through the years, Rich has served as a VBS crew leader for kids numerous times. From 2004-2012 he served on the Board of Directors for Alpha Sigma Phi the nation’s premier collegiate fraternity helping bring cutting edge leadership and personal development opportunities to thousands of young men across the country. From 2008-2012 he served as Board Chair and helped usher in the first period with 4 consecutive years of growth and the largest growth in membership in the organization’s 167 year history. Today Rich spends his spare time coaching little league baseball, running US Kids Golf tournaments and coaching the New Albany High School Girls Golf Team which he led to the program’s first State Championship and an undefeated season in 2018.
He is a long time resident of Central Ohio and currently lives in New Albany, Ohio with his wife, daughter and triplet sons.
