Rich Myers- Bio

Rich Myers

VP - Retirement Plans

Rich graduated from Capital University with a degree in Financial Economics and minors in Economics and Mathematics. He learned the ropes of individual financial advising working for OneAmerica Securities while completing his undergraduate degree. Upon graduation in 2013, Rich joined the Retirement Plans, Inc. team to help grow the retirement plan business and improve the educational efforts to both plan participants and plan sponsors. While at Retirement Plans, Inc. Rich received his Series 65 certification from the North America Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) and practices as an independent fee-only investment advisor.

In 2013, Retirement Plans, Inc. started their monthly Straight Talk Series lunch seminar program. This program is aimed at educating business owners, CFOs, human resource professionals and plan sponsors on ways to “Build Better Retirement Plans”. Topics covered include market and economic outlooks, legal and legislative updates, and plan design optimization to name a few. Under Rich’s leadership, the Straight Talk Series has grown from average attendance of 8 in 2013 to 20 in 2018 and has hosted over 1,000 business professionals over that five year period.

Helping employees reach retirement has been one of Rich’s passions from a very young age when he realized his parents had nothing saved for retirement. Because of this passion, Rich has revolutionized the Retirement Plans, Inc. employee education program by committing to one on one meetings quarterly or as requested and even providing employees with his personal cell phone number. This has created an open environment for employees to discuss financial matters on an ongoing basis and led to direct improvements in participation rates, contribution rates and overall financial wellness.

Rich is very active with the nation’s premier and fastest growing collegiate fraternity, Alpha Sigma Phi. He currently serves as the Chairman of the National Board of Advisors for Alpha Sigma Phi which oversees the fraternity’s charitable foundation, housing corporation and operations council. He also serves in a more local capacity as the advisor to the Capital University Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi. When not in the office or volunteering, you will find Rich in the gym or at the park with his four-legged friend, Porter.

Rich has been a resident of central Ohio area his entire life. He grew up in Hilliard and currently resides in Dublin, Ohio with his wife and their dog.
